This Cookie Policy explains how Express Mobile Detailing uses cookies and similar technologies on expressmobiledetailing.ca, what choices you have, and how to change your mind at any time. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work the same way — they let a site remember something between page loads or visits. We use both, and we treat them identically under this policy.
What we currently use
We do not run analytics or advertising tracking on this website. To be specific, the following are not active on this site: Google Analytics, Google Ads and remarketing tags, the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, and Microsoft Clarity or any other session-recording or heatmap tool. None of them is installed, and none of them loads. Browsing our public pages sets no advertising or analytics cookie of any kind.
Should we introduce any of these in future, we will update this page first, and the tool will load only after you have given consent for its category. Declining, or simply not choosing, means it never loads.
The only thing we store on your device by default is the record of your own cookie choice:
| Name | Type | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
sikzal_consent | First-party cookie | Remembers the cookie choice you made so we do not ask again on every page. | 180 days |
sikzal_consent_v1 | Local storage | The same consent record, kept as a backup so your choice survives if the cookie is lost. | Until you clear it |
This record holds your category choices, the version of this policy you were shown, a timestamp, and a random identifier. It contains no personal information — no name, email address, phone number, vehicle detail, or booking information is ever written to it.
The categories you can control
Our consent banner offers four categories. Three of them are currently empty — the controls exist so that nothing can ever start tracking you without your permission first, and so that your preference is already on record if we do add a tool later.
- Necessary — always on, and cannot be switched off. These keep the site secure and working: your session, form protection on our contact and booking forms, and the consent record itself. They are never used to track you.
- Analytics — would help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. Nothing is currently in this category.
- Marketing — would be used to measure and show relevant advertising across other websites. Nothing is currently in this category.
- Preferences — would remember optional choices such as interface settings. Nothing is currently in this category.
If we ever activate a tool in one of these categories, it will load only after you have allowed that category, and this page will be updated first. Where a change is significant we will raise the policy version, which asks everyone to make their choice again.
Content embedded from other companies
Some pages include content served by other companies so that the page can display properly. When that content loads, those companies receive your IP address and may set their own cookies under their own policies, which we do not control:
- Google Fonts and Google Maps — typefaces and the service-area map.
- Trustindex — displays our Google reviews.
- Instagram — where we link or embed our social content.
These are used to deliver features you can see on the page, not to build an advertising profile for us. We receive no analytics or advertising data from them.
Changing your mind
You can reopen the settings panel at any time using the Cookie Settings link in our footer, and change or withdraw your choice.
Two things are worth knowing. Your choice applies only to this website, and only to the browser and device you were using when you made it — so choosing on your phone does not carry across to your laptop. And clearing your browser’s cookies and site data erases the record, which means we will ask again on your next visit.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the necessary category may stop our contact and booking forms from working properly.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page whenever what we store on your device changes. The date and version at the top tell you which edition you are reading.
