Can you wax or seal the gel coat?
Yes, and on a boat it earns its place — gel coat chalks under UV, and a protective layer is what slows that down. It is discussed against the state of the gel coat, because on heavily oxidised surfaces compounding has to come first or the protection just seals in the chalk.
